Issue Addressed:
Americans throw away 35 billion plastic bottles every year. Only about 25% of the plastic produced in the U.S. is recycled. To-go plastics and foam dinner wear is the biggest waste from restaurants in Savannah, Georgia.
Proposal:
DESIGN GOAL #1
Engaging users of all
ages to be inspired to
make changes to their
daily plastic use.
DESIGN GOAL #2
Heavily impacting people
by the amount of plastic waste for them to want to make a change.
Concept:
Plastic is like the unnecessary part of a photo that one would crop out. It was only created to allow people a convenience, but it is not necessary. Much like how plastic is unnecessary, the excess of the photo is too because the focus needs to be shifted somewhere else. In the space to be designed, the focus will be shifted towards how one can crop plastic from their life and use sustainable alternatives instead.
